Family: Ranunculaceae (Buttercup Family)
Native Habitat: China and Mongolia

A wonderful selection brought back from Inner Mongolia by a University of Nebraska collecting expedition. Yes, it is a Clematis and yes it really is a shrub. It features yellow, bell-like flowers that bloom freely in late summer and early fall. Highly ornamental silvery, silky seed-heads follow the blooms.

Since it blooms on new wood you may want to prune this shrub back hard in the spring in order to get a lot of fresh new growth.

Yellow, bell-like flowers begin in late summer. Attractive silvery seed heads follow.
